Fadal questions (Coolant thru, 15000rpm spindles)

A bunch of questions

1. If a oring goes out on coolant thru does it cause the spindle bearings to fail (Like the Matsurra?)
2. Did they ever have a coolant thru and 15000rpm or 12000rpm?
3. What pressure is the stock Fadal coolant thru runing at?
4. In what years did they offer the 12000 or 15000rpm spindle?
5. What was the first year they offered the spindle thru coolant?
6. Where the 15000rpm spindles as tough as the 10000rpm spindles?

Coolant thru the Tool is the best...
There is no O-Ring, it is a spring loaded graphite seal that can leak.
Usually you'll notice the leak before coolant gets down into the spindle bearings. This design is up on top, "above" the Tool Holder Retension Clamping Unit, so coolant would have to go down and migrate down into the spindle cartrige. Plus overcome centrifical forces of the rotating spindle.

I like to cut an Inspection window in the sheet metal near the spindle and put in a lexan window, this allows visual inspection of the belts and stuff...
When anything goes wrong, centrifical forces send spatter out onto the window making it obvious that maintenance is needed.

Another option:

(If you don't have the Coolant thru option)

We just Plumbed in a Coolant Fitting on the top of the cabinet.
When we wanted Coolant thru, we attached a short hose to this Tool Holder, and M08 turned on this Fitting...

Works ok, even with the low pressure, low volume stock Fadal pump...
Way better than try to just flood from the outside.

1. Not in my experience, the belts go 1st, and are obvious when they get soaked.
2. No, not available (from Fadal) at RPM's above 10k
3. I don't have the spec anymore, but can be cross referenced from their mfr.
4. Dono
5. " "
6. No, but I like them better for aluminum, Less torque than the 10k. Considering that 15k is 50% more the 10k and the Fadal control is not capable at accurate high feeds even at the 10k RPM. I would not recommend this upgrade, unless of course you replace the control...

Just my opinion...
