Run it off off a data card. You should have a slot on the control. I use this to tranfer my progams and run large 3d progams. It is kind of like using dnc.
I have a Fadal 4525 VMC with a Fanuc 18i-MB5 conrtol. The control is conected to a server thru a LAN. Fadal failed to mention the low onboard memory and tells me spoon feeding from the server won't work. Has anyone come across this same problem? Is there a way around this?

It has the data card slot also.I was trying to find a way to spoon feed thru the server over the LAN. The server is in a differnt building where I use GIBBS to right the programs. I guess I'm just getting lazy and trying to save a few foot steps.
IMO, trickle feeding programs via a server or over a network is very risky. There is too much noise and cnc machines do not need much excuse to halt data input. Perhaps using a notebook computer would help.

Drip Feeding from the card on front works fine. I have the extended memory
for the same control but still run into not having enough. This is one of the few weak points of Fanuc controls. If you have the Data Server also you should be able to drip feed from it , but it is the same as the mem card.

Thanks for the Info. I am getting the data server installed.
