| I'll go for the jap machines. We have a 4020 and a Mazak FJV-20 sitting next to each other, and there isn't even a comparison. We just ran a fairly simple part on the Fadal, 6.5 minutes on the Fadal, offset every couple of parts to bring the holes back into size, then just the other day, we ran the same job on the Mazak, same feeds and speeds, 3.5 minutes, and never had to make an offset. Those tool change times and dinosaur rapids will kill you. As far as the Haas goes, all you ever hear about them is that their service is great, how do they know this, becasue they are always broken. As far as how Mazak service calls are, I couldn't tell you, it doesn't break, and when we have had a few minor problems, getting parts is quick, and their 24-7 tech support is quite handy. |
