Anyone have a wiring diagram for how to replace the old power supplies with a pc power supply? I have a 1220-3a power supply that I think is on it's way out, and know people have replaced them with pc power supplies, but need a wiring diagram to follow. Anyone have one they would be willing to share please?
If you don't get a reply with the exact information your looking for
this old post to replace the power supply in a Hurco VMX30 with a ATX power supply wired for an AT mother board plus a 20V PSU could give you an idea how to use a PC power supply
while your original PSU is working
make notes of the voltage on each of the wires and the colour
so you can work out which of the original wire needs to be connected to each of the the computer PSU wires
you need to connect the green wire to a black wire to switch an ATX power supply on
ATX PSU wires
black = common 0V
red = +5V
yellow = +12V
orange = +3.3V .......do not confuse with the orange power good wire on an AT supply !!!
blue = -12V at 0.5A approx
white = -5V at 0.5A approx
grey = power OK signal to CPU
purple = stand by +5V
green = power supply on - from mother board - connect to black ground wire to switch on
ready made adaptor cables are made so you can connect an ATX power supply to an old AT mother board
