Default Giving precise fixture offset Z axis coordinates

    Hello, everybody!
First post here, since I've stumbled across annoying problem I got here. I am pretty new in CNC machining, but have done first basic drills and mills and everything seems more or less fine. The problem that bugs me lately is how to measure fixture offsets precisely.

I have 3d edge finder and have no problems finding precise X and Y axis coordinates, but Z axis confuses me. I have measured all of my tools and set them at DT (tool offset menu) and my edge finder aswell, but I don't know how to include edge finders height offset when I'm measuring my fixture offset on Z axis. How do I "minus" my edge finders length, when finding fixture offset Z axis coordinates? Now I've done it manually - adding edge finder length + coordinates on Z axis from home position = my parts coordinates.

I hope you understand my problem.
Thanks in advance, waiting for soon reply!

If your only using one fixture (G54) or E1. only use a X and Y value in the fixture offset. Your tool length will handle the length offset. And use the UT command to set your tools. If you use 2 fixture offsets (Like 2 vices) use the Z offset for the differenc in the z amount of the 2 vices. Example Fist one would have Z value of zero. And then Fixture 2 would have lets say Z.035 (For the differnce in hieght from vice 1 to vice 2.
