Default Fadal VMC 4020 ATC problem

    Hello,

I recently purchase a 2011 reman VMC4020 and I'm having issues with our ATC.

This is a video of what it does when I use the M6T# command

Any ideas? I pulled the covers off to see if something was rubbing but do not see anything.

Here is another view of this problem.

Sometimes it goes half way then retracts, sometimes it doesn't move at all before throwing the error, and others it goes through the whole tool change process (VERY SLOWLY)

    Any help will be appreciated.

We took the bar off that moves the actual tool changer and it still did the same thing.

Check the transformer to be sure it's tapped correctly and check the contacts of the contractor for the ATC motor. If they're pitted they won't be able carry enough current to drive the motor properly.

One of my machines does this sometimes. Inside the tracks gunk builds up from coolant and fine chips/ dust. I clean the inside out with brake cleaner then lubricate the tracks and moving parts and it takes care of it. not sure if that's your problem but mine does the same thing.

Thanks for your input! I had a repair guy come out and he found a board that was burnt up. I'll post up if it works in case this happens to future members.
