hi guys 1985 4020 old control .. I fired up the machine today and ran a few parts and eveything seemed fine.. After about 20 minutes I went to run another part from the same proven program and it shut down.. What I mean is it started out moving in X and Y and then as it moved in Z, it shut down the spindle and then coasted to a stop.. I turned off the machine joged to my marks and then cold started. Machine started to go to the home postion and then it shook and stopped.. I did notice that the spindle was doing one of those dances where it seems like the spindle encoder might be going out.. What do you think?? Chips |

Was showing signs of shaking or jerking in order to find its orient position.. Also keep in mind that my shop is a bit golsd and I dont rin the machine everyday.. Chips!! |
