backlash adjustment

Can anyone explain the proper procedure for setting the backlash compensation on a 1996 15-XT with the 88 control. My mill is leaving a little scallop when contouring rectangles and interpolating circles.

The Fadal maintenance manuals have all the info you need and the correct procedures to go through. They were available to look at online for free, last time I looked.
