I have two Haas VF machines and a Leadwell 550s that I'm going to sell or trade in as I plan to retire. I want to get one machine and keep it in the shop for hobby stuff and side jobs. I'd like suggestions. This machine will get light use, maybe a few hours a week, but I want it to last the rest of my life. Things I want Box ways Counter balanced head using a big weight Fanuc like programming BT40 tooling If it could run on single phase that would be a big bonus. If I could plug in my Haas 4th axis (HRT160 I believe) and not have an adapter that would be great. I'd like to have large travels. 40x20 would be great Suggestions? |

| TM-1 travel is 30X12X16, the TM-3 is 20X40. Why did you post in the Fadal section? Do you want me to move the thread to general machining so you get a bigger response? If you want me to just ask I'll leave it up to you. If it is for a Fadal suggestion then their new line of machines 2216 and up are all Fanuc, box way, not sure on the single phase and counterweight, Neil may be able to shed light on that one. They look very well built for the money. |

| You may need to go with a rotary phase converter and step up transformer to be able to run any "real" machine - such as your specs are asking for.

| Darebee I currently use rotary phase producers, but they are noisey and never give you 3 equal legs. I was hoping that someone had finally invented a single phase machine tool. Nervis1 I'll check the TM3 but the last time I called Haas they said they didn't have any box way machines Sure you can move this thread, I just couldn't figure out where to put it. |
