I thought this was pretty cool! Looks like they found a way to maximize the servo loop. I wonder if it has anything to do with Flashcut.

We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts :) If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.

It would be nice to have that control as a option by some of the machine tool builders. My guess it would have to be a builder that already offers control options like Feeler, Sharp or SMTCL.
One problem with retrofits is the crappy umbrella tool changer that most older machines have.

There are a lot of Fadal shops that will be looking fro new machines in the next 5 years myself included. The specs on the new control look good and I like that they kept the XYZAB and increment rotary switches.

The question is, is it affordable? What interface is needed? That what I'd like to know, so my next retrofit can run it. The details are in depth about what it can do, but how is it communicating to the outside world. PC, Ethernet, servos etc.....

I have 2 Fadals, Small one man shop

the first is an older 90s model, Recently had a control upgrade
But to be honest, I really dont need a fancy new control for it

Its box way, Abd I use it for heaver jobs, Mild hogging of stainless
and exotic tougher metals. So speed is not someting I really need
    for that one

Now On the other hand, Due to small shop space, I bought a newer
VMC 15, Linear ways, pretty darn fast control for the dinosaurs Im used to
    running

I only kick myself every single day for not getting a larger machine, So many
jobs I have had to pass on because of size. I should have at least gotten
a 30-16 Im told they are not any bigger.

But at any hand, This little guy does the high speed milling and 3d profiling
I tell ya its opened a whole new world for me. Some times I run it on a complex
    part 30 hours straight.

Im not sure if a new control would help, I still get minor gouging even set
at the smallest resolutions. I gather I would have to go through the entire
machine to get a perfect finish, Ball Screws, connectors, Spindle, who know
    what else

But the best part, I just paid it off, So I think save a few bucks before
    making any more improvements

Having fun in my little small shop In the Dezert
