| Fadal reputation: Poor accuracy (There is no need to go on at this point) Poor cycle time performance Poor factory engineering support Fadals service is NOT as good as it used to be Poor macro language due to old vintage I suppose the only good thing about Fadal is the price, Oh, not so much any more... As for what I would use, that depends on what the CNC is needed for...

| Scott Bob- Isn't that interesting! Graphitie electrode manufacturers use Fadal machines. Medical equipment manufacturers use Fadal machines. The US military uses Fadal machines. Aerospace manufacturers use Fadal machines. I guess no body seems to care about accuracy and quality, at least according to you! Neal |

| Well, you CAN make trodes, and Med parts, Military and Aerospace parts on a Fadal. And I have over the years... But once you use "other" CNC machines, you no longer want to use a Fadal, because of the reasons I mentioned above. This is just the "common" Fadal reputation, not just my opinion...

| or what? Perhaps you have a vested interest in keeping Neal happy or what... Just what is the difference between bashing (as you call it) and stateing facts? I have a long history of factual contributions on this site, so if you don't mind mister Moderator, i won't cool it, concerning my FACTUAL Fadal opinions... Have a nice day,

| Or I'll delete your inflammatory comments and ask the admin to ban you if you keep it up. Your commentary so far in this thread has been nothing but Fadal bashing which always seems to lead to you mentioning your blessed Numerix control. And yes BTW while you mention it Neal is a VERY valuable member here and I hope he stays despite the seemingly endless diatribe that seems to come from you. |

| Scott, I have to agree with the consensus. Unless you are willing to back your opinion with argument, you should probably refrain from sharing your opinion. On the other hand, I think your opinion is probably correct to a certain degree. A Fadal can be used in a cell, and can be retrofitted with robots, pallets and conveyors to perform various tasks on families of parts, and the price of this machine make it very attractive to do so, but the speed, accuracy and dependability of "lower-end" machines, like Fadal, make it unsuitable to be the cornerstone of a machining-cell. |
