FADAL 32MP RS-422 Pin Config.

Hi All,

I just purchased a USB / RS422 converter to replace the onboard RS-422 chipset that has gone bad in our 32MP controller. We were quoted on a new upgrade by Fadal but it didn't make sense to spend over $2000 on a board that still works. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the pinout on the RS-422 cable is (inside the pendant) and I will not power it up until I can verify the connections. I believe only pins 2+3+4 and 7+8 have wires connected to them. Any info would greatly be appreciated.

Quatech has a serial to 422 card that works well. About 150$.

Thank both of you for the info. I connected the adapter with a customized cable (with the proper pin outs) and I'm able to DNC to the controller but I'm not able to retrieve any info from the controller (tool table, offsets, progs, etc.). Any ideas?

Hi

I´m here in Austria, we haved bought a second hand Fadal VMC 4020 Center 32MP.
I still cannot operate it because i am a beginner in CNC working.
Is there anyone who can send me the G- and M- Codes or a manual book for download.
I think there in USA this machine is very popular but in Austria not so much.
