my 2005 trm (single phase) recently started making a slight whining noise from the x axis drive (it sounds kind of like feedback from a guitar amplifier). The tech from fadal said that if he gets the amp to quiet down the machine might start faulting. Right now it does not fault at all but that noise drives me crazy. He also said it is because the machine is running single phase. Does anyone else have a problem like this? Not sure whether I should just learn to live with it or have it adjusted. Thanks Mark |

| even on 3 phase, its still whinning, because its the way it was Fadal just use things off the shelve to put them together. it is normal .compare to the cutting noise it was nothing, so we still live with it. best regard |

| fourperf-- It is NOT normal for a motor to "whine"! There is either an amp problem, a motor tuning problem, or perhaps, an motor issue. If tuning the motor to run quiet causes it to fault there is something else wrong. Is your shop power 208 Volts? If it is that is not acceptable for the TRM machine. You need 240 volts. Adding Buck boost transformer can help here unless I'm mising something. Neal |
