The 88 and the 88HS are dependable controls, not state of the art, but they work.

I have a '91 CNC88 and trouble free since I purchesed it, could have had more memory though.

    fourperf,

Just my opinion, all of Fadals controls are the worst you can buy.
The only control less accurate and slower are the really old original Fanuc OM controls...

I have 7-Fadals; 6-CNC88HS and 1 - 104D. No matter what you do, avoid the 104/D like the plague. Fadal is scrapping the 104/D because it has so many bugs they can't fix it - they are cancelling the 104/D program (rightfully so).

As for the CNC88 controls, they have to be the most user friendly control out there (IE: SIMPLE). In short, the 88's don't have as many "cute canned cycles" as a Haas.

With that being said, all of our programs are programmed off-line and DNC'd to the machines, so it's a no-brainer for us to like the CNC88's as we don't need the bells and whistles.

But if I was standing at the controls, programming the parts at the controls, I'd take a good look at Haas - that's where those "cute canned cycles" would be handy.

    Hope this helps!
