The tool Change Z position is off.

I'm not sure how this happened but the Z tool position is off in the Z+ direction, so it sets the tools on top of the carosel. Is the a process to reset the Tool change Z0 position?

Start with the basics. When you cold start the machine are the marks lining up properly? Does the machine DRO show 0.0000 for Z? If not, correct this problem. If yes, I think you will need to check SETP to find the position for tool change.

What does the machine position say after the cold start before any other moves?

Then, your ATC position for Z is based off of a secondary Home position. Typcally a G30.
You can try MDI; G0 G91 G30 Z0. to see where this value is.

This is typically set in a user parameter under 2nd home position. (it may be in Metric)

Then check SETP and see if the values have been changed. (You should have already had all the SETP values written down.)

Do the setp parameters just change on their own? I was running this machine yesterday. Here is what happened, I did a SETCS, HO and then forgot to power off the machine. Then one of my coworkers came behind me and noticed I hadn't shut off the machine. He did a SETCS,HO and noticed that nothing happend and shut the machine off. I came in this morning and started loading my tools for a new job. I didn't notice that it was setting the tools on top of the carousel until one of them tipped and the spindle crashed into it.

I went throught the SETP pages and everything looks ok.

If the machine was moved before the SETCS and H0, that would probably throw everything off. If you call the service department at MAG (Fadal), they are pretty good at talking you through things like this.

Alright. I fixed it. I didn't call the service guy but did a little reading. It ended up being the Zero offset. In the manual there is a section for this. Followed the instructions a she is really to roll.

I'm not sure how it got off and if it happens again I'll l et you all know.

    Thaks for the help!
