X axis responds strangely when initially started...was this power supply

Cold start the machine and try to jog the X and the machine doesnt move then jerks. It travel fine under power but jogging in X is bad until the machine has sat for about an hour. Was this a capacitor power supply issue?
We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts :) If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.

If the machine runs fine under COMMANDS being issued befor it warms up then the power supply is most likely ok. I sounds as if you may have a cold joint in the JOG circuit or possibly a Manual Pulse Generator starting to fail.

Thanks for chiming in Neal! It appears that until the Fadal has sat for more than 20mns it is jittery in all axis using the jog wheel on the pendant. We bought this 96 6030 used and the remote pendant said (no good) on it so we never hooked it up. I am suspecting the issue isnt the pendant it is somewhere else. I wonder if it is in the power supply...however the machine will go to last home far across the travel without jittering at 100% rapid when its cold but wont manually operate smoothly until its warmed up.
