    88HS tool number

    VMC 15
    Controller 88HS

    I lost all parameters.
I re-entered them and every think is OK with one exception.
While working in MD mode the screen shows "TOOL 1.024 is in the spindle" (instead of "TOLL 1 IS IN THE SPINDLE").
This is true for all tool numbers.
How to get back to the original tool number.
Why did I loose all the parameters after not using the machine for about 4 weeks?
Is there any manual for explanation of different readings on the screen of 88HS?
    Any suggestions?

    Smile Battery.

Something is inputed wrong I think....Also, you may have a bad memory battery and it needs replacing. Further, once you get things back in order (parameters in correctly),download and store them, it makes it much easier to replace them correctly.

I would try resetting tool order just as if I had a crash'

    Tool Changer Crash

    1) Press the JOG button to get the Turret into home position.
    2) Move to the cold start position using either JOG or the power off procedure:
Type SETCS and press ENTER. Type HO and press Enter, then press START.
    3) Type CS and press the ENTER button. See POWER ON.
    4) Use the TURRET CCW or CW button to rotate the turret until there is an open
turret location directly opposing the spindle.
    5) From the command mode type SETTO. This will establish this location as
    tool number one.
    6) Type TC,1 to open the tool changer.
    7) Rotate the turret with the TURRET CCW or CW buttons until tool number one
is directly under the spindle, then press the MANUAL button to pick up tool
    number one.
    8) Type SETTO to establish this location as tool number one.

There are a few other things that can cause this but I don't know them off the top of my head. I'd do a search on the Fadal forum for "memory". I just did and got over 100 hits. Googled and got more than 17000.

    Thanks scadvice and denmar.
    I zeroed the memory using:
    DI <ENTER>
    G 0 3000 <ENTER>
Chose function 5 = ZERO MEMORY.
Pressed MENU for 5 min. to exit DI mode but nothing happened.
So, I shut down the machine and restarted fresh.
Using SETP, I entered new parameters.
Using BL command, I entered all XYZ backlashes.
    Using RI cleared all offsets.
I shut down the machine again and restarted fresh.
All now (I hope) is OK. (see picture)
I think my battery holding the memory is near end of life.
This is a second time I lost all parameters.
    I tried to locate it.
    Where is it.?
