    4020HT metric or not?

    Hi!

I'm a newbie on the fadal here in germany. We have a 4020HT (MY 1999).
The CNC-Control is in english, the digits of the axis-positions are metric.
The parameter in SETP Page 2 (DEFAULT) is set to metric.

Wondering if I jog with the remote-control one digit, axis jog for
example 0.254 millimeters if the knob on the panel set to 0.1.
Is this correct? I think, there is a 0.1 milimeters-moving correct.

    Bye
    Thomas

I can only speak for the CNC88HS controller.

When set for .01 each increment is .254mm
    .001 = .0254mm
    .0001 = .00254mm

I found this information in the Training Manual

    Hi!

    I have the 88HS.

    Yes, you are right:

    .01 is .254mm
    .001 is .0254mm
    and
    .0001 is .00254mm

It's not a big problem, but a litte strange for a metric german machinist.

If I have to jog for example 20 mm - it's better to use MDI-Mode....

You wrote "training manual". Is there a link to download it?

    Another question:

is there a chance to put the tool back to ATC after the programm
is ended? On the Ultimax (Hurco) I can manual set "next" Tool to 0
and the machine put the tool back. I don't want it do to it in the program,
the manual way (command...) is okay.

    Bye
    Thomas

I'm a newbie too so you've been warned.

    Try TC,1

I'm not at the shop today but I'm pretty sure that's the command you're looking for.

Cardinal Machinery, Inc. - CNC Metalcutting and Fabrication Equipment - Locations in Tennessee and Alabama

I don't see a Training manual but the Operator's manual looks similar

    Hi!

TC,1 open the ATC - that's right. But if you press MANUAL, the
    machine take the tool again.

    atc

you can use tc,1 and then hit cw or ccw keys to move the turret to an open pocket then press manual again to come down on the empty pocket.the manual can be downloaded at fadal.com it is hidden a bit, here is now to get it.go to fadal.com,hit products+services tab, then hit services tab, then fadal manuals.they do have some in german for you.you also can go to fadalcnc.com and get even more manuals, but no german ones.

Asumming you are using 4 tools (1-4); before the end of the program (M2) insert a line M6T21; the tool go to #4 bucket, and the turret jumps to #21 wich is an empty pucket. Or inset M6T1, tool 4 go to 4# bucket and turret picks up tool #1.

    Hi!

    Funny tricks!

I understand correct: there is no "normal" way - to clear the tool in the spindle
    like TC, 0?

What do you mean by "clear the tool in the spindle"? What are you looking to accomplish?

    Red face clear

I guess clear the the tool means that getting it out from the spindle. Like crearing the cone from the holder.
