Is there a place in the Fadal control to input a part diameter when doing continuous A axis contuoring (like in a wrap toolpath)? Or is this calculated from the posted code ie: it knows the cut plane, and the z-zero, and figures it out from that? |

Nervis1, If you have the fadal operators manual the formulas are in the rotary axis section. You have to calculate them yourself and put them in as a feedrate. I guess some cad systems do it correctly if you have tweaked your post. Alloyspec

Those formulas are for inverse and degree per min feeds, and my post should take care of that. I was wondering if there is an option for ipm feeds and inputting a diameter like Haas does I'm told. I'm told second hand that there is some parameter somewhere to input this number but I don't see anything in the manuals or in the machine controller.

Check out the Rotary section of the User's manual. Read up on Cam Wraping or Flatcam programming (same thing). If you have any questions, give me a call at the office and I'll clear it up for you. Neal

Thanks for the reply Neal, thanks for all of your replies. I got this problem solved a while back and should have updated this post. The manual did clear everything up, as well as an adjustment in the software I was using. My 4th axis is working perfect now.
