I changed all of the bearing's and seal's on all of the ball screws. I need to know what is the best procedure to set the backlash. 1989 VMC40. Thank's.

Determining and setting the backlash is pretty simple and best done with the control rather than the jog handle as most techs do it. I have attached the procedure for your reference. Let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
