    DB9 to DB25 cable.

    I got my1989 VMC 40 up and running. Now i need to connect it to my laptop. I have a IO Gear USB to DB9. My lap top is running on Windows7. I have everything to make my connection cable. What pin setup should i use?

    I used info from Gar on here after having searched a bunch and read a lot of various things.

    I cant say for sure the compatibility for your 89 (CNC88?) as compared to my 95 4020 (CNC88HS) but here is what I used....

    DB25---------->DB9
    2---------->2
    3---------->3
    7---------->5

    And on the DB25, jumper 6,8, and 20 together on one circuit, and jumper 4 & 5 together

    If you have a shield in the cable, it would go to pin 1 on the DB25 and NOT connected at the DB9 side.
