Need Help!- DNC to VMC40

Hi all,

My problem is that I can’t DNC to my '92 VMC40 With CNC88, v91.2b-2. I have no problem uploading or downloading files to the computer, or the Calmotion USB unit. Issue is only with DNCing.

I use NCFadal and (or) EdgeCam for UL, DL software.

I have no problem DNC’ing to my VMC4020 with CNC88HS, using DNCX.

NCFadal help states about DNCX that, This protocol was implemented with software v91.1 and above. Can some one tell me why my 91.2 controller does not have it?

RuYour system is a dash 2 system. The DNCX protocol was not introduced until the dash 3 system in late 91.
In NCFADAL de-select the error checking as it causes more problems than it is worth. Try using a baud rate lower than 9600. Remove the "O" word and all comments. End the program with either an "M0" or no code at all, IE no M30 or M2.
The old dash two system were the very first software to do DNC and had some strange things that the older softwares did not.

Thanks for the reply. De-selecting error checking, and or removing M2 seamed to do something. I can now get a short prog to run all the way to the end. Ill try a longer prog. When I get time.
