Your program should start safely from the tool call line as long as your pecking cycle definition is performed on the lines after the tool call, before any cycl or lbl calls. What is the error message exactly?

Okay - find your tool call line in program editing. Note the line number. Switch to program run - full sequence mode. Press 'goto' then enter the number of the line you want to start at (the tool call). It is sometimes not enough for your cursor to be on the correct line - you need to confirm with a 'goto'.

If that don't work let us know. Be aware you need to use 'goto' to confirm start position when using 'single block' also. Don't move the cursor around willy-nilly and expect it to start in the right place.

I don't know of any built-in engraving cycle. I'm sure someone out there will have one. Anybody?

I did once create a program using a combination of Linear and Circular motions for engraving fixtures, but my section-leader deleted it on one of his 'control clear-outs'.

If you make your own I suggest you set up a label/program for each character. Program each shape in incremental fashion from a common point of origin (the bottom left-hand corner is logical) and end each label/program with a retract move to the potential origin of the next character. That way you can program a word quite easily with concurrent label/program calls. Also create a label/program for a 'space'.

A 5x5 square is good size to program the characters.

Use Datum Shift to position your first character at 'zero', then use the Scaling Cycle for different text size before calling the necessary labels/programs.
