Unhappy Fadal "move to last home" problem.

We have a Fadal EMC 20 x 16 machine (looks to be a 2004/5 manufacture) at start up, after the "CS" prcedeure the screen shows the last home position but when we press start the machine just "e stops out" and screen asks to jog (this resets the machine) to the CS position indicators and then enter the CS command....the screen shows working...then done, x, y and z...then the last home position screen...but press start and machine just cuts out and so on and so on....

The last home position is X =0, Y= 8. (to bring table fully to front of machine for loading) and y=0.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Rob.

I assume you mean x=0 y=-8. and z =0 ?? Y-8. would put the table in front.

If that is the case then I suggest try changing the HO postion y to 7.5. It may be that its coming up on to the y limit. Or re-adjust the y limit as an alternate. Another thing to check is that the machine is CS ing on the marks and not off a rotation in the Y axis, I think this would also cause the same problem.

Rob, I understand what you are trying to do with the "last home position", I have 3 EMC's that we always run to Y+ for easier part changes. However, I like that we only cs the machines on its own marks (middle of table) and the way we run the table for parts changes is as follows:

E48 X0 Y8. Z0

end of program like this:

G0Z.5M5
G0G90G49E48X2.Y0Z0
M30

This will run both Y and Z to your wanted positions in one sexy move and you get to choose where you want to leave X-it's not best in the middle of table (X0) as your vices are torqued down on the right side, thus the X2 -or 4 or whatever you find is good.

I fought with our 3016 for a while and finally settled on this for mine;

This is for setting the CS & HO positions.

Also make sure it is shut down properly at shut off (night).

Let us know what works.
