I have recently bought a Fadal 4020 late 1987. This is my first cnc machine and am still learning programming. Power is currently via a diesel generator so I would like to program on a pc then download when ready. The machine has a parrallel port on the back and a serial socket on a short lead inside the cabinet that I could exit by removing the disused modem plug. The machine is only for hobby / learning and was cheap from an auction. What is the easiest to learn / best value or free editor to use on the pc and any tips for connecting? I imagine it is best to plug direct to the serial socket. I have downloaded the manual from fadal. Any help gratefully received.   |
