Fadal 4020

Hello people my friend have one machine "Fadal 4020".
Normally they do the programs manually in the machine, or do in CAM and then past to the machine by hands

now i talk to him and say why you don't do DNC ??? and he don't know what is ....

I go your factory and see the machine. Then i search somethings in the internet but i have some doubts....

In front of machine we have a controler with one PC (picture 01) in the back side of computer we have 2 connectors Db25 (male and female - picture 02)

In back of machine we have an connector DB25 (picture 03 and 04)

Now my question is: what connector i use to comunicate with pc for dnc??? the db25 from PC of control panel (picture 02) or the db25 in back of machine (picture 03)??
and what diagram we use for the cable?? (PDF file page 320-322)

someone can help??

hello again.

In my opinion i think the connectors in back side of pc (picture02) is used for do dnc with connector in back side of machine (picture 03) using scheme of page 320 "RS232 Pinouts for the IBM-compatible PC Simple DB25 Null Modem"

If we want use a external pc, we need to use the scheme of page 320 - "RS232 Pinouts for the IBM-compatible PC DB9 (@PC) to DB25 (@VMC) for DTE Equipment" and the connector in the back side of machine (picture 03).

Correct me if i'm wrong.

Yes - use the cable on the bottom of page 320.
My connection is the one on the back of the machine. I do not have a connection on the user interface box like you show. I do not know if it is the same or for something different but I would assume it is the same as the one on the back.

Ok i do some tests and i have good and bad news

I prepare an dnc soft with configs, then put in receive mode - Go to machine and type CD,6 (ENTER) + PU,2 (ENTER) and the DNC software receive the current program. works very very fine.
Then do CD,6 (ENTER) + PU,3 (ENTER) and do the backup of all programs.

ok works very fine in receive mode for PC

In SEND mode, i can't do anything. I put in the machine CD,6 (ENTER) + TA,1 (ENTER) then go to the software and send program. The progress bar in DNC software goes to 100% but in the machine nothing happen, i see th program list and don't receive.... I don't know what's happen.... If send the Machine to PC why don't send the PC to Machine???

I think it's configs from DNC software. It's possibel says me one example of software and good configs???

Joshuac--
Since you can communicate in one direction, the settings in your PC software are good. The issue most likely is either a bad connection in the cable or a bad 1030 buss interface card.
Have you done the loop back test using the RS-232 test plug that came with the machine??

Are you using a USB interface at the computer?

I really does not understand your problem
on the machine you have MP32 in one side you have win 98
with program that called MAIND or something similar
connect this computer to your other computer load the program
on your cnc side be in manual
and then run the program in dnc very simple

The program being referred to is called CNCMAINX.EXE. This is the Fadal Memory Manager and is resident on the embedded hard drive of the 32MP control. It is a stand alone program that is used to meve files back and forth from the PC hard drive and the machine memory and to and from a rfemote PC via the RS-232 port at the BACK of the machine and not at the back of the pendant.
