I'm a newbie for this cnc world.
This forum is great !! Lots of information and helpful guys.

It's reassuring to me there are many Aussies in Exitech forum.

I'm thinking to get a Excitech 1212 router.

Could anyone tell me what and how much do I have to pay for taxes and import duties etc ? ( to Sydney)

World economy is down at the moment and I'm not quite ready for buying just yet (nothing to do with stock market though )

I've done a little bit research and I'm almost certain to go for the Excitech.
Unless you guys say "Don't !"

I will be making a lot of questions in the future. So please be aware!

Keen to know/understand the freight costs, how freight is organised to port and from port to door, customs broker costs and import duties.

Hi Guys,
I've been looking at purchasing the SHM1325 and have discovered these extra cost.

Customs forms B650-$80.90, B319 -$25.00
Australian Port Charge - $400
Duties - 5% for the CNC total value
GST - 10% for every thing, eg CNC, freight, insurance, even gst on the duty amount, etc.
Freight - $? to your door.
Quarantine -$? if they need to fumeagate the packing crate.
The cost for a customs broke in Adelaide is $150 + GST.
I think this is all.

Importing freight companies should help to streamline the delivery right to your door, but I wonder if their total cost is competitive with DIY.

I have heard that freight can be a lot cheaper if you can book and fill a container, rather than have your goods shared with other cargo. Their might be good advantage to having multiple CNC's shipped to the same state, to share the overheads and reduce the pro-rata on shipping costs.

Could some one tell me whats the deference between "CLC" and "FCL" ?
I'm thinking to buy shm1212 .

If you have ordered the vacuum pump - which is very heavy, ask Taney to ensure that it is NOT shipped by sitting it on top of the table. We believe that the vacuum pump sitting on top of our table during shipping caused a 2mm dip on one end of our table. This poses a problem. There would not have been room in the crate to sit the vacuum pump on the floor, so maybe request the pump to be shipped seperately? I hope this answers your questions. Regards, Rocket.

LCL is Less than Container Load, this means that the container has other peoples goods in it and that the other things in it get unloaded elsewhere.

FCL is Full Container Load, the container only has your goods in it.

Hi guys, Our CNC Router was imported in a FCL 20 ft container.

We are located in Adelaide ( Pooraka ). The container was shipped to Melbourne and then put on a train for the final leg to Adelaide.

The actual shipping cost was USD $1,860, which was paid to Excitech at the time of ordering. Excitech then loaded the container and organised the shipping from their end. They then send the documentation, which should be forwarded to your Broker/Receiver without delay.

The Broker/Receiver that we used are G&J Leyshon & Sons Pty Ltd, who did a great job getting everything organised at this end. Unless you have experience with importing - do not attempt to be your own Broker/ Receiver. These people know how to do things correctly.
They also organised the transport of the container to our premises - fuss free.

Be aware of the costs at this end of the shipping. The total for our container was $3,168.98 - which included GST of $1,799.66.

If you choose LCL shipping the costs would be lower for the shipping.

Will try to attach a copy of our invoice showing the various costs.

Wow, the cost of your freight was huge, I was quoted LCL - $300 and FCL 20 ft for $700 by Taney and this was to Port Adelaide harbour.
The customs broker (G&J Leyshon & Sons Pty Ltd) was also the same one I contacted.

My business is designing and manufacturing UAV aircraft for Military and Civil applications. Our current design has a 14ft wing span and can carry 20kg of payload. These aircraft are autonomous and fly by themselves.
They can be fitted with near real time EO/IR camera systems and other goodies.

I not sure if you would mine, but I would love to have a look at your router before we went ahead with one. My Father also has his own machine tool reconditioning business and is a bit concerned about chinese made tooling. I have received a few quotes from Aus manufactured router and holy CRAP batman, they are expensive.

Thank you very much for all the information guys.

I have read all the Excitech thread and I was almost certain to purchase one
from Excitech until I read a post from Gerrit in Excitech Cnc Router Purchase thread.
I'm concerning about Excitec's quality control system now.
As I am an inexperience cnc newbie I really want something I can use straight out of the crate without too much fuss.
Is this too much to ask for the company who sells their cnc router for 1/2 the US or Aussie price?
Gerrit said in his post Ms, Diana Feng the director of International dept has left the company.
And recent post from Mano he mentioned he has bought a router from maxicamglobal-cnc.com.
I visited their website and I found more than similarity in the routers.
Is Maxicamglobal a new company?
What's the relationship to Excitech?
All these information made me very very confused.
I'm really curious to know what's happening within Excitch.(only if something is happening there.)
