It's through a program bundled with the machine ( ZHBDSPhandheldhost as it's called as a file or signtek as it's called in the program )and yes it gives you a preview, It doesn't tell you what tool to put in next though, (somebody correct me if i'm wrong) I have each tool as a separate program and name the file with the tool size as part of the filename I.E. areaclear_2mm30deg.u00 so for engraving it's "area clearance with a 2mm 30 degree tip" or i'll have prof_ 2mmEM.u00 and thats profile cutting with a 2mm endmill. Hope this helps. By the way, has anybody tried mach3 with the chinese controller?Nice pics too jimmy. Is that your garage or basement? I would completely embarrass myself if i showed photos of my shed. Scott |

| G`day cabnet, You did an excellent job in going to keithG`s shop and checking out his machine. This has got to be the best way to select a machine. That has taken all of the guesswork out of it for you. I hope that Kustom does the same thing. It was an excellent post by keithG. I have read it several times and i conclude that he is an impressive fellow and he has a very fortunate situation with Bill and Josh and Frank. Thanks for posting the photos. It makes things so much easier when we can all see what we are talking about. Regards, Rocket. |

| Esmae I'm sure i have the 'ZHBDSPhandheldhost' program somewhere also, never loaded it. What does it do? First Gcodes I ran were generated in Type3 and saved straight to the USB stick to run from the hand controller. Like you I generated different progs with file names as a tool change solution. Not a garage or basement- stairs lead to a clean room upstairs where I do electronics assembly but its never clean cos I leave the door open so I can hear what the machine is up to ;-p What lube are you using? I found machine gun oil is the only thing i have found to date that sticks to the guides. |

| I have recently discovered that I have a dealer or reseller for these chinese machines and shop sabre both in driving distance of me. I want to take the 14 hr round trip some day soon and see both of these machines first hand. we've discovered here that the chinese machine are good but I fear the no name parts on them and how to get them fixed or serviced. If these resellers disapear or change names agian where will we be? I have not ruled out Shop sabre or excitech and even they seem to only be a couple years old I have nothing but good to say about any of the companies I have talked to. Josh glenn from camaster even included his cell phone number in his e-mail and when I called him yesterday I think he was at lunch but he still say there and talked to me. That is how a lot of us smaller companies have to operate when we don't have a office full of operators. they all always the answer phone and know what they are talking about. shop sabre does have a lot of add ons that sky rocket the base price from there listed web site price. But I appreciate what they are trying to do you can buy a solid base and upgrade as you grow but I just wanta git a machine that I don't have to touch. Just send work to it. I hoped to make this trip this week, but with thanks giving and shop sabre is not going to be open friday, it will have to wait a while. I have to double check with both companies and make sure they are going to be there. I will let you all know, I feel these are both good but I want to see, feel and hear, and see on run before I can make a judgment. and carvin that is a heck of a deal I'd love to see pictures of your rusted plastic gear machine and the new one to see what changes they have made to them over the last year or so. [QUOTE=KustomKoncepts;368818]we've discovered here that the chinese machine are good but I fear the no name parts on them and how to get them fixed or serviced. If these resellers disapear or change names agian where will we be? That's why i paid a bit extra and ordered the machine with a known good HSD spindle (Italian) and a vac pump from becker (german). The machine runs Hiwin standard and while the steppers, drivers and spindle inverter may be of china/ taiwan origin i suspect easily replaced with a locally available product. |
