Need help

I have Chinese Excitech router with DSP.
I have a problem with DSP.
It was working OK last time I used.

I tried to load the file using new USB memory stick today.
When I selected U-drive to read the file, I could see the name of the program.
After selecting the file I wanted to run I hit the OK button.
Normally spindle start to spin here.
But I couldn't go any further from there.

Then I tried to run the factory installed "inner memory" (sample program)but the name of the file (was Chinese fonts) went funny and cannot read or run the program.

At last I have tried using original USB stick to load the program.
After selected the file from U-drive then I hit "OK" then "Inner memory in not enough pls delete some files" came up on the DSP display.

I never installed any program direct into DSP inner memory and there were only few sample files installed by factory.

Can anyone tell me whats the problem is ? and how to fix it.
Should I delete inner memories ?
Please HELP

more trouble

I have deleted "inner file" through
>>>advance pro set up
>>>file maintenance
>>>delete
Once I selected inner files and hit OK button, DSP displayed "deleted"
But It still show the broken file names.

Anyway, After deleted the inner files the machine could read the program and started working.
But Z axis didn't go down to where it should be, and Y axis went too far so I had to hit the stop button.(I'm not sure about X axis )
I think spindle rev and XYZ axis runs faster than how they should be.
Can anyone explain why it's happened and how to fix it.

I'm not an expert in this but have you tried Inner Format (Menu>System Setup>Inner Format). I've done it a couple of times to resolve issues and it seems to work. You'll need to reset all setting such as Pulse Equivalents, Machine Size, Home Speed, Gcode read etc. so record them all before hand. It will wipe any existing cut files from the DSP.

Hope this helps.

Does Inner format just reset settings and cutting files ?
It doesn't format firmware ?
And can it be done with dsp pendant(handset) ? no need to connect to PC ?

I'm relatively new to CNC and so I'm not sure if there are different versions of the excitech DSP or whether the functions/terms are the same given the menus are so cryptic. The term 'Inner Format' send shivers up my spine but it works for me. Any time the machine has misbehaved I've done the Inner Format and it seems to straighten it out, but like I say it wipes the machine settings and any inner (cutting) files on the DSP. I've never been able to get a USB to work with mine.

I've just done the procedure again to refresh my memory and it does require the resetting of any data in MACHINE SETUP and AUTO PRO SETUP.

Does Inner format just reset settings and cutting files ? - on mine yes
It doesn't format firmware ? - on mine no
And can it be done with dsp pendant(handset) ? - Yes (Menu>System Setup>Inner Format)
no need to connect to PC ? - Correct

Version View for my DSP is:
Initial version RZNC-D5416/3/L7, 1.2, Hgq68 20817
Normal Version RZNC-D5416/3/L7, 1.2, zhb177 20817

Not sure exactly what these mean but if they are Model/Series and the same on yours I guess you'd be OK. How old is your machine ?

Inuk

Thank you for your help.
I bought my machine SHG1212 just a year ago.
My DSP version is
Initial Version
RZNC-D5416/3/L30
1.2(ZHB59)
34152
Normal Version
RZNC-D5416/3/L30
1.2(ZHB1560)
34152

On my DSP, "Excitech" logo comes up when it's switched on.

Tried to send this off thread but your mail is full.

Did an inner format work for you ?

I have the same machine though I bought it used. I beleive it's about 6 years old. I'm interested to know what you use yours for ? What CAM program do you use ? I've never seen a logo on my DSP.

Btw are you able to control the spindle spd from code ? I've not been able to do this, I have to use the VFD.

Cheers

I've done "inner format" today.

After formatting DSP, all the parameter went back to default automatically.
Only setting I have to change manually is "Pulse equiv"
They were XYZ : 400 400 400 after formatting.
That travels Y axis twice more distance so I needed to change them to 400 200 400.

I had a test cut and it was almost successful.
I noticed spindle spins a lot faster even if I used same program I used before.
Is there any setting I can change the spindle rev via DSP?
I didn't touch VFD at all.

Problem solved !
I had a reply from Excitech.(It was very quick indeed !)
Machine is now working perfectly.(I think )

The settings I needed to change were

INPUT SPINDLE ST 2e NUMBER: to INPUT SPINDLE ST 7e NUMBER:
Then 7 lines of setting came up. ( I only had 2 lines before )

The setting I have is
0 down down down down
1 up up down down
2 up down up down
3 up up up down
4 up down down up
5 up up down up
6 up down up up

Now spindle speed can be controlled via DSP and program(v-carvpro).
>>> Inuk
I thins your DSP is same as mine.
Try those setting above.
