Default New to CNC - Please can i have some Help?

    Hi All,

I would like to know what is the correct voltage selection on my products, because after i connect them last night, my drivers and motors where to hot.

    Motors : 57GYBH115-003 voltsge 3.8 current 3.0 A/PHASE (See Attached)
    Drivers : M542 20 - 50 DC connected to 48DC power supply (See attache image and M542 PDF(page 7-8))

Also i use mm's and i cannot calibrate my machine.

formula i use: on my drivers i use dip combination 1600, my screw is 1.5mm pitch,
1600/1.5 = 1066.66667 i know that with the screw i use i will always have lost, but is temporary, i will buy good lead or ball screws, anyway i should be close at least.

Sorry for the long post i really need your help.
    THANKS !

    Hi,
Motors get warm/hot anyway, drivers do usualy not.
You set your driver to 4.2 amps while your motor can handle only 3 amps? Either you have your coils in parallel so each coil takes 2.1 amp or
you are overloading your motor coil. Am I right?
Looks like you pushing the limits in your initial configuration. My advice: start with less current and ad more by the time you are running and need more speed and power or both.
Your calibration is done in your software; the driver is only transfering step and direction pulses to your motors.

    regards, Arthur

with your screws you have to use a lower microstepping, like 1to1 or 1to1/2 or you will not get a usefull speed out of your machine. with your 1600 setup you can get max 30 to 40 mm per minute .
