Ayup, you heard right. Today the Directory Enquiry system for mobiles went live.
That means that if someone has your name and address they can cold call your mobile phone.
Assuming your phone is registered to your address of course.
Considering that most folks kid's phones are registered to the parent's address this is more than a little worrying is it not? eg: some psycho nutter just released after one month into a life stretch due to a "mix up" in Social Services can phone your kid's phone?

It's advertised as "the only site with millions of mobile numbers".
It says you can get your number deleted but would you trust them? it's like trusting the police to remove your fingerprints from the national database.
Anyway, shouldn't it be an opt-in policy instead of an opt-out?
Or am I just being jaded with the current corpulence of our caring community?
