| Hi, I'm not in Belgium but I did visit there once! Its a nice country. I'm in Ireland. I've built two machines at this stage, both worked ok but neither is anything to write home about. Good luck with you build, I'll help if I can. |

| Good luck with your build, and if you have any problems, there are a lot of friendly people on cnczone that are itching to help. If you are looking at some good suppliers have a look at Zapp automation or automotion. They are in the UK, and i have used both. I found Zapp to be a lot more cost effective, but Automotion have a lot of stuff that Zapp dont. They are not that local to you, but they will have most of what you need, and shipping to Europe is not that expensive anymore www.slidesandballscrews.com http://www.automotioncomponents.co.uk |

What kind off liniairs are you going to mount ? Millingspindel ? Steelframe or allu ? Steppers or close loop servo's ? I'm moving to an other location in august till then all works on stand by ,,no worry its made from 6mm thick stainless 316 :-) X 285 mm Y 285 mm Z 285 mm minimal , base 600 mm X 500 mm hight 900 mm,,will it work ?? time will see ,i'm looking for someone to help me connecting the cables and configuration pc grtz rik |

| my machine is just for educational purposes so going for cheap setup. my spindle will be a dremel for now i will propably updrade to a 1.05kW kress router later on. The base (see attachement) will be made of 18/12mm MDF, i hope to get it sturdy enough to mill aluminium. liniears for my long axis (X) will be supported round liniear guides: http://www.stappenmotor.nl/Stappenmo...eleidingen.htm i havent decided on Y and Z yet. I might even go totally cheap and make all DIY guides. I will use steppers because of tight budget. I think i will use trapezoid thread to move the axis around also because of budget. I will be able to mill 420mm x 297mm (A3). Iff i can get some good results on aluminium i will use it to improve my little machine or to build a new one. Are you building your for profesional or hobby use? I can configure a machine for EMC use. Iff you give me some details on the electronics you use i might be able to help you out. (Iff you are intrested in using EMC that is look at linuxcnc.org) Cheers |

| Yo Sendo , all :-) Well best thing to do is starting the way you do ,,keep it simple and inexpencif ,,,i'v got a lot of things laying getting dusty , if you like , hop on a bus and have a look , as i wrote ,i'm moving out . Only the configuration to MACH 3 and checking the wiring for stupidities needs to be done :-) Have a look in my shoebox http://groups.msn.com/rikpic/shoebox.msnw ,,,it's mixt language Flamisch/German/englisch so for people out there --->pagina = page vorige = back volgende = next @ Zedon 3 UHU's driving the wheelchair motors at 30 V you need to have some idea how they work ,,i do ( a little ) ,,my mill is only for hobby no time limit grtz rik |

| Hey Sendo ,, no these parts have been don with a 4 kwatt trumpf , cuts like butter :-) dxf was made with Autocad took me some time because i hat no idea how to ,, more like trial & error ---> more error than trial 'lol' but i did it , not so bad for a 52 year old The jetengine intake klock was designed by coreldraw with desière tool , meaning all by hand in grayscale wen at last finisht i put it in PLT (plotterfile) then it was engraved (gravograph) in alluminium and filled with black paint . The picture of the two blowers/vacuum pumps,,i hat 3 off them 1 sold to germany the two others are still here (not for sale). The guides you want to use are verry cheap the allu parts can be cut in two or three so you dont need the whole lenght , i have some bearings some where Tip,, you can find a lot of parts at lokal scrap yarts ,if you dond blink an eye to the owner wijf/dauhters he will let you have them for ,,,,, Owkaay enough Englisch for now grtz rik ,,,you can also come and have a look in my basement ,lot off things to find |

My first step in the 3D cnc world, so I'm looking for some informations (help). My idea is to build a simple XYZ table first, 1000 x 1000 x 500 mm usable surface. Later... much later a 5 axis system (XYZ axis + rotation of the part and inclination). So I'm tying to do some drawings first, before building some stuff. I'm working with second hand parts, so I have to buy them first, and then make the drawings. For my Z-axis I have all ready the two linear guides with roller blocs (bearings). Measurements about 700 mm x 300 mm x 100 mm (LxWxD). Here one of my first 3D drawings of my Z-axis without the spindle. The rendering of this first picture toke about 1 hrs 21 min 33 sec on my (slow) computer, and several days to enter (build) the parts in the virtual 3D world (3D-program) :-(. Greetings, Marc. See you soon. |
