    2008 Sub spindle pick up

I'm still playing around with Esprit 2008 Demo version because my company will be upgrading next month...as I'm told and I want a head start. I have a question about picking a part up using the sub spindle. I can't post anything in the demo version but I watch the number on the Properties page to see if I'm doing it correctly and it seems that my axis is all screwed up. I still use the XYZ plane for the sub spindle side and it when turning after the pickup on the sub spindle side my Y and X values are mixed up. I create a 2nd work coordinate using XYZ as my work plane and input the overall length of my part as a negative value in the X box and YZ is set at 0. Apparently I'm doing something wrong but I'm out of ideas to correct it. Any help would be appreciated. I don't have a problem in 2005 but 2008 seems totally different.

Lets see if I'm following you?

Are you programming to physically pick up the part and reorienate in a fixture or vice?

Yes, I'm programming the sub spindle to physically pick the part up from the main spindle. I think I might have figured it out. I set my 2nd work coordinate plane to YZX and used the selector option for the work coordinate and selected the center of back of the part (sub spindle side), if that makes sense. All seems to be okay for now but it gets hard working with something you can't save. Can't wait for my company to get back on the maintenace plan.

    Bassn 07,

There's an Add-In for E2008 called Turning Work Coordinates that will create the G54 and G55 W/C for you.

    Thanks Dcoupar,

That's exactly what I was looking for. The problem now is that it seems that Wrap Drilling is the only function that doesn't seem to be taking that offset...weird. After several attempts on trying to make the Wrap Drilling work I decided to try a different operation and to my surprise it worked? Is this just a glitch in the software or I'm I still doing something wrong? Spiral, drilling, mill contour, and all other operations seem to work fine except for the Wrap Drilling. Thanks for the help.
