| Esprit vs Feature Cam I'm looking for some advise on a camsoftware purchase. I am currently a mastercam user, but we have recently decided that an upgrade is needed, and mastercam just simply is not keeping up with trend. Most cam software's offer feature based programming. So far we have narrowed it down to Featurecam, and Esprit. We have had both sales rep's in to demo their software but of course it's true flaws will never come out in a demo. Pro's and Con's would be very helpful. I will be using the software to program 3 axis mills, and Mazak integrex series 4 machines. |

| No one does feature recognition like Edgecam. Get a demo you'll be impressed. www.edgecam.com Mike Mattera

| Where do your features come from? We are using Esprit with Solid models made in Solid Works and it is great. They are pretty limited when it comes to face milling, but it can be worked around. For the multi axis stuff they are great. ESPRIT has to have the best support in the industry!

| A couple buddies of mine at a different machine shop use ESPRIT for multi-axis programming (DMG FD series mill/turn and Mori and Mazaks (ZT and Integrex)) They claim it works well and have been using ESPRIT for these machines for years, well before anyone else seemed to have any support for mill/turn. |
