    A few threads down, is a thread with 5000 posts which explains exactly what fillers to use, and in what ratios.

    The aggragtes and fines used in concrete (cement) can be used in epoxy granit. Large stones 10-15mm down to fine sands graded to fill the voides. Sharpe stones add strength but make it harder to mix and work. Density is around 2200kg/m3 less than aluminium.

    Hi,

    There are some different stones that can be used(?) in my area. These are;

    - Quartz sand:

    - A sand that is called "Silis" in Turkish. People use it on sand blasting.

    - Lastly some kind of black sand. It is used to decorate floor of aquarium/fish tanks.

    Would you use these as filler?

    I used two grades of quartz sand, and biggest aggregate was something like on your second photo, river sand. 8% to 10% slow curing epoxy, not vibrated, hand compacted with tools, and eveyrthing went well. Got the density of almost exactly 2 kg per cubic dm. Make sure to dry it well, as some bagged quartz can be little wet.

    Basalt is the hardest and should be the best option, i think. The weight should also be a benefit. However, i could not find basalt in all grain sizes, thats why i mixed basalt, marble, gravel and quartz sand.
