My cavalier attitude towards those who will be affected by a 10 m increase in sea level is partly because any change will be slow enough for humans to move or build dykes. Mainly, my attitude is because I have seen no compelling evidence that any real problem exists. Stated more clearly, a 10 m rise is a gross exaggeration. As I said in an earlier response, asking what we are planning to do about the coming calamity presupposes that it is coming. I believe that the world's climate is constantly changing, but I don't see anything to be afraid of or react to. Most of the glaciers melted a long time ago and no humans complained about it. Nature is just finishing off its work before the next ice age rolls around. What is real about "global warming" are the taxes Europeans are paying in the name of saving the planet. Also real, are the efforts to slap the same taxes on the US. |
