Hundreds of scientists from across the planet are now speaking out in opposition to the corruption of climate science. Among them are Fred Singer, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Science at the University of Virginia, and the founder and first Director of the National Weather Satellite Service; Richard Lindzen, Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Roy Spencer, Principal Research Scientist at the University of Alabama at Huntsville, and U.S. Science Team Leader for the AMSR-E instrument flying on NASA's Aqua satellite; William Happer, Cyrus Fogg Brackett Professor of Physics at Princeton University; Syun-ichi Akasofu, Professor of Physics and former director of the International Arctic Research Center at the University of Alaska; Patrick Michaels, Research Professor of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia, and past President of the American Association of State Climatogists; and David Douglass, Professor of Physics at the University of Rochester. Physics icon Freeman Dyson expressed similar skepticism in the New York Times. These scientists are as good and as credentialed as any working on the UN's IPCC Assessment reports.
"Speaking at the Solyndra plant in Freemont, Calif., in May 2010, President Obama expounded on the federal government’s role in the company’s success: “Less than a year ago, we were standing on what was an empty lot. But through the Recovery Act, this company received a loan to expand its operations. This new factory is the result of those loans.” That loan was for $535 million, and was guaranteed by the federal government. A year later, the factory is empty, and 1,100 workers are out of a job.
Maybe these other companies won’t share Solyndra’s fate. Would you put money on it? Too late, you already did."

Yeah, BarryO, less than a year ago you were standing on what was an empty lot. Now you're standing on a lot full of smoldering money.
Hmmmmmm, then today he threw 400mil more good money after the bad............ THEN tells congress that he wants to piss off another half billion on "stimulus"!
EDIT: I misstated the amount......make that a half TRILLION! $400 plus billion!
I don't know anyone who can count that high! The word is INSANITY!

It is not difficult to figure out why there is a transfer of money going every direction except where it would do any good..

Note that within that alarmingly long list, 16 are from Kalifornia alone.
Look for a handful of rich guys who pay zero in taxes to scoop up those Solyndra assets for 10 cents on the dollar.
America is a fabulous place to be filthy rich.
Buy my Multicam!
I think with the exceedingly long telescope of hindsight OL' Bama could have just GIVEN that $537 million dollars to the 1,100 workers and let them decide what they wanted to do with it.....most would have retired happy with their lump sum and lived a contented and secure life, steeped in the knowledge that the Government knew how to treat people who probably voted for them and are trusted to protect.
Well, the people are now either in alternative employment or back on the dole, either way the taxpayer lost millions and the Government lost voters via their lack of foresight.
There is a two edged sword here, if'n the country as a whole "invested" their tax dollars by giving each and every one of the unemployed 1 million dollars each to invest in some enterprise or other and so live for ever after on the proceeds, and return the 1 million to the Government when they eventually die from boredom or old age, so making available further funds to make more people free to die from boredom or old age etc etc exponentially, the problem of poverty would dissapear, at the same time the money that started out would still be in the system, never dissapearing into greedy poiliticians pockets, whatever, always in the bank so to say, always making money.
If'n you read your Bible, and I know many of the Yanks are avid Bible bashers with a religeous fervour that rivals Al Gore's "Inconvenient Truth", you would doubtless remember the rich man who gave each of his sons a certain sum of money to look after when he went walk about....he didn't give them money to make them idle or allow them to spend to live on, but as a test as to their integrity.....and as the story unfolds one hid it under a stone , the other lost it to some woman with bright eyes etc etc, but the last one made a pile with it and gave the old man back a bundle more than he originally gave out.....so the last son got the total inheritance...etc etc.
If'n the trillions that the banks and other funny business ventures dissipated without any trace after the shoring up campaign, had been merely distributed to the "poor and needy", the average working Joe Blow, there would be a nation of wealthy unemployed that wouldn't need to have a job, (as there aren't any) and most importantly would never have to ever again go cap in hand to the dole queue for a subsidised meal coupon.
Is this too simple.....I give you money to make you rich and you give me the money back later, now we're both rich?

Al Gore Climate Change | 24 Hours of Reality | Climate Reality | Mediaite
Al Gore Begins New Climate Change Program; Is He Just Wasting His Time?
In a couple days, Al Gore is initiating “24 Hours of Reality,” an event in which he will give a special presentation once an hour every hour for a full day about man-made climate change. These presentations hope to finally convince skeptics of the direct connection between human influence and global warming. All in all, it sounds like a great plan because, as we all know, the biggest issue the skeptics have is that they haven’t heard enough from Al Gore.
America does not tax wealth, only wages. so what country do you live in where the government taxes your wealth instead of your income.
and in case you missed it - we taxpayers already funded the obama give away to one of his supporters to the tune of FIVE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE MILLION DOLLARS. for those of you taught with union teachers that it $535,000,000.00.
when giovernment invests - they can aford to throw it away, it is not their money, it is ours.
and as for really rich people, i want to be one of them, but i dont want to steal it from someone with more than i have. the problem with that theory is that there is always someone with less that YOU have and if the rule is "you can take from those with more than you" well better build yourself a moat and some 20 foot walls - we are back to tribal warfare.

Several countries that tax accumulated wealth.
France
Switzerland
Liechtenstein
Netherlands
Norway
India
Other than the direct taxing of a person's savings and retirement funds thereby punishing those that save, there are also several other major flaws in a wealth tax system. First, valuation of illiquid assets including real estate, privately held businesses, antiques, art etc can be purely arbitrary. Secondly, wealth valuation fluctuates in time due primarily to the money supply fluctuations. This creates a moral hazard whereby governments can use inflation as a direct means of raising revenue. Finally, elderly citizens whose income is much smaller than their non-revenue generating assets may find it near impossible to pay their taxes without continued asset liquidation.
Due to valuation and accounting difficulties, wealth taxes systems have high management costs, for both the taxpayer and the administrating authorities, compared to other taxes. Per one study in the Netherlands the aggregated cost of the tax’s yield was roughly five times that of income tax
Death Tax, .......but like most tax schemes, the 'death tax' was originally brought about to tax the 'idle rich'... Those people that live off of their family's wealth such as Paris Hilton. Like most tax schemes, [such as the Alternative Minimum Tax or the idle rich tax ], eventually reach down to the working class tax payer and government is unwilling to give up the tax revenue that it generates. Many family owned small farms and businesses have had to be sold just to pay death taxes.
You came into this World with just a bare skin, and you'll go out the same way....what you accumulated in between is just excess baggage and gets donated to the needy when you're finished.
