    Enroute 4 Pro & MicroScribe

    Hey!
I'm new to this so I hope I got the right place for this question.
We have a Multi Cam M103 and will be upgrading to Enroute 4 Pro soon. We want to import contour surfaces with our MicroScribe G2L digitizer but have no software with it. Do we need an additional software package or will Enroute accept input directly? Thanks!

    Dan,

If I am not mistaken I think you will need an interface program to take the digitized info and convert it to a 3D model of some variation and then import the model into Enroute. As far as I know after working with Enroute for the last 6 years there is no way to input this information directly. I suggest you contact the equipment manufacturer for details.

    Good luck,

I have suspected that which you have commented, however, I have yet to get a responce from MicroScibe or Multi-Cam. I was hoping someone had already found the solution so we can move on. Maybe I will hear from someone today. Thanks for your comment!

Microscribe was an Immersion Corp. product

But the company stopped making them over a year ago. They seem to have sold off the brand to another company: Revware <http://www.revware.net/>. But it's unclear if they are actually back in production yet.

The Microscribe Utility Software was a program that allowed you to export Microscribe data into programs that accepted numerical input (without requiring mouse clicks, etc). If Enroute does that, you might ask Revware for a copy of that program.

If you want to capture curves, one way to do that is by using Rhino, which supports the Microscribe directly (no extra software needed). Use the Interpcrv command with no snaps or other constraints applied to create curves with the arm. You can download Rhino from <www.rhino3d.com>. It will work for up to 25 saves before you have to buy it.

Don't know if this helps but..

If you can find point cloud software and convert the points into a mesh then you can import this mesh into enroute.
