I don't know how to make it run- new hermes 810

    Hello,
I have 3 of these machine that my husband purchased at auction for resale, but I don't have any way to make them run. I do have one manual that tell me how to run a job, and I did use it once to makle it run, but when I tried it the other day on a different machine, it didn't run. I want to make sure they are ok before putting them up for sale. Can anyone help me ?
    Thanks in advance

    NHI 810 surplus machines

Trying to get the one I just bought working myself. If you have one your parting out and want a quick sale I need some cartridges, namely a key cartridge and italic & script font cartridges. Willing to pay if I can afford them. I also need a copy of the manual. I have searched the net for information and these CNCZone guys seem to know more about it then anyone else. You came to the right place. My knowledge on these is limited; however, I used to work on both computers & tv's. First thing to do is to try and determine if it is electrical or mechanical. Turn it on and see if the monitor is working. Do this by turning both the brightness & contrast fully clockwise. You should have a green full screen "raster". This indicates that the tube high voltage circuits, MB & power supply are working. If not, try another power cord. No raster, cursor tic mark, or a green line indicates Mb or High Voltage problems. If there are also words on the screen the computer may be working right, try entering something from the keyboard and see if there is a screen response. if not, try using another keyboard. Another simple test is to turn the machine off and pull the cartridges out and re-insert them . Sometimes the cartridge traces get corroded. Beyond that, its probably a bench job. Hope this helps...rereading your post, it seems your asking more about the operational side than for an inop machine. I will leave that to some one more familiar with cnc & engraving.

    Smile New Hermes NHI 810

I own a New Hermes NHI 810 love the machine because it is all I know. Can't possibly afford a new one. I am interested in whether or not you may want to part with yours or if you know anyone who may be willing to get rid of one they have just sitting somewhere. My machine will not reboot so when I turn it on there is just the green rastor screen with no info. The machine would work if I could see the graphics to set up job. Any help I can find would be appreciated.

oh my goodness I do not really know how to use this forum effectively....I still have the New Hermes and have purchased a different used machine that some things I like better some things I don't....so if you know anyone who wants to purchase my other machine I would love to sell it......wish I could have gotten it fixed or parts for it. If I had known someone had a working monitor I certainly would have paid dearly for it!!
Have you tried the contrast button just to make sure it is really the monitor?
Prob. better to message me cause that is how I found out about your message
    Thanks! Diane
