I have a New Hermes 1219 that I purchased without the proprietary computer - basically just the table and the bits. I have wired in a Rockcliff drive and can now run all three axes from a demo version of Mach3. If I wanted to try and engrave something onto plastic, what steps should I take to set up the job, specifically the Z-axis. What depth should I cut, and any advice so that I do not cut "Hello World" into the metal table top? I have never used an engraving machine before, and to understand how to use my conversion I would like to know how the machine was originally set up and run. Thanks, John |
