Unless I am misreading your post, I don't see why you need a rotary engraver? If your parts are discs then you can engrave them with any engraver - mechanical or laser.
Gary
I'm looking for a mechanical engraver, preferably not the DOT-Peen stlye, that can engrave on the OD of a part. The parts are disks, 1/8" to 1/4" thick and range in diameter from 3.5" to 11" OD. Right now we use a 4-Axis mill, and program them all in Gibbs. We'd like to have a dedicated machine to do this rather than tying up a CNC mill. I've looked online, but can only seem to find 3-Axis engravers, nothing with a rotary axis.
thanks

I need to engrave on the OD (circumference) of the discs
Here is one that will work - I don't know what the cost is, but I know that NH has a reputation for being a solid machine. If I was to buy a rotary engraver to supplement my laser, it would be this one.

The Gravograph 400 Volume runs around $20,000.
How much engraving are you putting on the OD?
Some of the old New Hermes floor models had rotary set ups.
You can do about 1/6 th of the diameter w/ a depth control nose.
Take a look at this:

Try these guys.
they have upto 5 axis diamond scribe which looks engraved and not dot peen.
The guy you helped me out last time was Andy Ruzzin I just needed a air powered roll marker and he hooked me up for around $10K. It is a serious machine but I drooled over the diamond scribe machine they had there when I ran off my roll marker. My text did not change so the roll marker was a better/ cheaper solution
