How much money do you not want to spend?
A Taig can do it, but there are PCB-specific routers. I think I saw a $599 on a banner ad. Taig is more than that but a Taig can do a lot more.
Do those "PCB routers" have specific features to help with PCB mfg, or are they just like other milling machines?
A lot of people use Eagle for board design and the PCB-gcode script will export the design to gcode for use in a mill/router. In most cases you will set it to route out immediately around the copper traces for isolation from each other and unused board area, but it's a waste of time to route the copper off the unused board area far away from the traces like they did here.
From what I looked up, tqfp64 is 11mil spacing between the pins (we don't care much about trace width). I have an engraver with a 6mil tip. The runout and increase in width as you cut deep with a V-shape engraver will decrease the capability to do very small features. 11mil should be fine though. |
