    Tool Marking

This seems like the most appropriate section.

Im a brand new machinist and im starting to obtain tools...

I was wondering what would be an easy and repetitive way to mark metal tools, i don't really like the idea of stamping letters in to my calipers with a hammer...

Im in a big shop and I dont want to loose my tools...

How do u guys do it...

Go out and buy an engraver. One of the ones that vibrates. we used to use one of those in the shop before we bought an etching kit.

I use an engraver. It's quick and dirty.

But, here's a link just for fun:
    Electric Stencil
It's a cool site with lots of old projects: (check the Vintage Farm Plans Link)
