Free single line fonts

I have noticed there aren't many good single line fonts for engraving on a router type machine freely available. All good looking script fonts are outlined.

So I decided to make my own fonts. They are for qcad which uses cxf type fonts. I've included a .dxf, which I believe is easily convertable to other cad/cam programs.

Here is my first font, ver 0.1. What do you think?

I'm using only lines and circular arcs for easy conversion to gcode, and tried to minimize the number of entities.

Hershey Fonts

Google Hershey Fonts (or see: http://www.batbox.org/font.html) to find a large set of fonts that are 40 or more years old.

Hi Ken

At Last! ... I'm on the forum.

Would you or any other member know where to source Island filled or
hatched fonts. Happy to pay for them without having to buy a complete engraving programme.

Currently operating 1000 x 540mm Isel engraver/router machine, using Autocad for programming.

I am already using a .shx font similar to Helvetica with success and would be interested in Times Roman.

These fonts are lovely for brass plaques.

Kind Regards.

Mark.

Thanks for the information. I couldn't find any truetype versions of Hersey fonts.
I noticed I already had 9 of them installed in postscript format. Fedora linux install's them automatically. Anyway I converted those into truetype format for use with DeskEngrave.

They are public domain.

Please don't use the fonts in the last post. They are bad. There are extra lines.

I'll try to fix them.

Single Line Fonts

‘Single line fonts’ is a subject that keeps coming up and has never really been resolved. Most if not all of the quality fonts are associated with their respective software programs and are not, in themselves, available separately.
The single line TTF fonts available with CamBam were separated at some time or another and although they are perhaps not for commercial use without license they do crop up on various sites with a download option. This is one such site
CamBam Stick Fonts
