Some of my test engravings Alu. 6082

    Hi,

I just got my site up and running and have made a few engravings I want to share under my pictures section "cnc".

    http://www.tea-with.me.uk/index.php?cid=5

I'm collecting some of my plastic work and will upload shortly.

    Thanks

    DC

Nice! Is there some kind of infill, or is the darkenss caused by the depth of cut? Have you experimented with different alloys for engraving?

    keep it up!

    Steve,

The engravings took ages to machine and when I worked on the female face, I stood around blowing the dust off the work. I didn't do that with the bike and I feel the dust from previous cuts stuck to new cuts. It does give it an interesting look when viewed at a distance, kind of like more levels. I'm investing in a small airline and compressor shortly.

I have tried 1052 and found it very different, so ductile it kind of stuck a bit to the spindle tool, maybe I'll have another play at different feeds. I have also to upload a few images cut into ABS, they look real nice...

(the cutting files were generated online on my site, if you're interested)
