Hi everybody, I am a begginer using the Roland EGX350 engraver, so I find several doubts day by day. At this moment I have some doubts regarding 3D milling procedures using the 3D Engrave software. Is there any good soul that could help me? My main concern is that I can´t find any procedure to mill some parts with a tool and after that do a pass with a smaller one to do the parts that the big tool couldn´t mill. I would like to know is there is any way to avoid the repetition of all the process with the small tool milling "the air" in most of the parts. I will really appreciate your comments. Thanks! Rony |

3D engrave was designed to be engraving software, not general-purpose 3d milling software. It doesn't have the ability to do roughing passes with a material margin, and then a final finishing pass. If you've got Modela Player 4, that might work better. Otherwise, try something like DeskProto. If you can save your model in STL format, then import it into DeskProto, it will do what you're talking about, and also run your machine. You can download DeskProto as a 30-day demo and try it out for free. For what you're trying to do, the "Lite" version would probably work fine.
