I have acquired a New Hermes/Gravograph IS400, but am missing the remote. Gravograph will sell me a remote for $600, but since I am unsure of the condition of the rest of the machine, I would rather not spend that much. Has anyone been able to run the machine without the remote, or found replacements elsewhere? |

| I would get in contact with the regional rep. Tell them you need to test your current machine. Tell them in order to do that you need a controller. To really get their interest in helping you, tell them that you want to upgrade to their newest version of Gravostyle. That's a $2000, all profit, sale. They'll definitely drive down to demo you that software. In order to demo the software, they'll bring down a working controller. It's a win win for everyone. |

| Be careful, there are several styles of the Pendent Assembly (remote). You need to look from the back of your control module, at the far lower right (comunications card location). The original modules had a pendent that connnected to the female 25 pin d-shaped plug in the center of the module back, but there has to be a male 9 pin d-shapped plug on the far right. If the male 9 pin d-shapped plug is to the left of the far right plug, the pendant connects to the female 25 pin d-shaped plug in the center of the module back, but the pendant's internal chip is different. Another pendant model has a male 9 pin d-shapped plug which connects to a female d-shaped connector to the left of a USB plug that is on the far right. If the Salesperson connects the wrong pendent to your module it will appear like your $1500.00-1700.00 is defective also. If they give you $2000.00 trade in off their inflated M-40 machine, you might buy in to it. Your machine may never make it to the company, as some salespersons have side line sales and the company usally doesn't take machines in trade. A service call could cost you $185.00 per hour portal-to-portal plus expences. Ordering the pendant, you may receive the wrong one and they may charge you a restocking fee for each wrong part. There is a supplier in New York that may be able to help you Engraving Plus 607 2nd Ave. Troy, NY 12182 (518) 235-9892 |
