Post a pic of what you have. I run a vanguard at work, I believe it's a 3400 as well. It has the drive unit box with a LCD display on it. I know it pretty well .
I at one time ran a vangard 3000 and have now purchased a 3400???? This one has a control panel rather than running off the New Hermes box that you put the cartridges in. I am lost. I can program the job and get it set the way I want but am lost sending it to the engraving table and what I do from there.Engraving table says 3000 but I think the update stuff is 3400.
Actually I get it sent to the table but ????
Thanks

I took a picture of the control panel but not sure how to put it on. Has the little screen at the top. Do I need to toggle over to show the engraver where the plate is at or does it know that?
That depends. Ours has a 8x12 engraving area, so when the unit powers up, it goes through the zero return procedure. Once it gets to the top left corner, it knows through set up in the controller that is 0,0 of the work area. Then you manually move the x and y axis over a couple inches, then press the z button on the controller. Move z down till it touches the work, I use a piece of paper so I don't scratch the engraving material, but that's not real important. Then press the check button. The z should go back up. You are now set to engrave. In the pc software if it's the same as ours, you can adjust the z depth once you hit the cut button at the top of the screen. There is also feed speed adjust, think it was one two and three, on the left corner of the screen.
