I would like to engrave a simple logo consisting of text on my products. I use Mach 3 and found a "Write" wizard in it, but I wonder if this is the best way to put text on my products. I apologize for not knowing how to even ask this properly. I could not find any instructions or tutorial anywhere to know how to use the wizard. |

| The wizard is quite simple to use and after a few practice attempts you will have got the hang of it I am sure. This is, however, a vector program so you will only achieve the outline of the closed loop characters and you can only compose one line of text at a time but other than that it is very quick and easy to use. | Thanks for your reply Tweakie. My problem is I don't know how to tell it where to start etc. The Xo and Yo and Tool N°, and setting the X Y Z values . . . I don't know where to start. Are you aware of any video tutorials or anything regarding this? |

| Many CAM programs work with text. A Google search on text to gcode returned this as the first hit and there are several others: Text to G-Code bob |

| This would be a basic setup. The Xo Yo zero position is bottom left of the text (red dot) dont worry about any other settings which have not been set here leave them (or set them) at zero for the moment. When you click Write it will post the code to Mach3. Try this and see how you get on. Tweakie.

| Thanks again Tweakie and thanks rowbare. I just registered at the artsoft forum Tweakie and see that you are there giving help also. I'm going to read all the threads I just brought up there from a search query later today when I get time. CNCZone and the members here are very helpful. |
