Vanguard 3400 - How to change the bit

Hello,

Purchased a Vanguard 3400 with the intent of converting it over to a light-weight CNC machine. We have a good handle on the electronics. However we are stumped by the collet! it seems that the brass looking knob at the top must loosen the collet. However we can't figure out how to lock the spindle, or attach a draw-bar... Also, we are not certain which direction will loosen the collet.

Can anyone provide instructions, or better yet a link to a manual? (I tried google without any luck).

We finally figured out the left hand thread part of it. But I would love to get my hands on the portions of the manual that specify how to adjust and maintain the machine. I'm sure there are nuances to this thing that we have not even begun to appreicate.

I have just acquired a used Vanguard 3400 and really need a copy of the instruction manual as I am a novice at the engraving arts. I did get the module manual.

Please let me know if you still have the manual and can make a copy and what it would cost for the copy and shipping to California.
